Snow Park Niagara Falls brings year-round boarding fun

NIAGARA FALLS,NY-All summer long, Western New York has felt the arctic chill of Snow Park’s outdoor winter wonderland. From the many fierce lanes of tubing to the year-round outdoor skating rink, Snow Park has brought thrills and chills to tourists and locals alike who just can’t seem to get enough of the white stuff. Now, Snow Park is utilizing the latest in snowmaking technology to bring a snowboarding terrain park.
More than half of the 12-lane tubing hill has been converted for specific snowboarding and skiing use. The new snowboarding section houses two 16-foot flat rails, one 20-foot rail, and other custom built features like a dance floor fun box and an A-frame structure. All lanes will continue to use a mixture of real snow using the latest technology provided by SnowMagic and will also use Snowflex, a high performance synthetic system that has been called the closest replication of snow in the past 50 years. SnowMagic uses a unique patented technology to manufacture snow without any additives or chemicals. Snowflex can be used anywhere all four seasons, and is even safer than natural snow since it is softer and doesn’t pack down.
Eric Kanner, an avid snowboarder in Western New York, is excited to have another winter themed extreme sport venue in the area: “I’m no stranger to hitting the slopes in the southtowns during winter, but when this place opens, it’ll actually be closer and cheaper than anything in the snowbelt. Not to mention I can hit it all year.” When asked if he needs the extra year-round practice time to keep up with his other boarder buddies, Kanner’s answer was to the point: “I got mad skills.”
General Terrain Park Information:
- Every person 5 and older with proper ticket will be allowed entry into the terrain park
- Re-entry to the park IS permitted
- Snowboards, boots, and bindings are ALL available for a $9 all day rental (ski equipment not available.)
- Admission into the snowboarding terrain park is $11 (kids) and $13 (adults)
- Deluxe tickets that give access to ALL of Snow Park’s attractions are $18 (kids) and $20 (adults)
- Helmets HIGHLY recommended
- Terrain Park (Snowboard and Ski area) is for intermediate to advance riders due to the freestyle features.
- **ALL Skiers/Snowboarders need to sign waiver at admissions Desk. Ages 18 and under must have parent or guardian sign waiver before using the Terrain Park. **
